I am the sole user of my computer, am not connected to any network, and according to all the places I've checked within my system I AM the administrator!!!! There are no other accounts on here except a "guest" account.

This whole thing started because I wanted to turn off some start-up items and services that I have absolutely no need for and I fear may be putting a drain on my tiny little system. Aaarghh! Therein lies my problem-I am unable to do a clean boot or reboot in safe mode (dumb question-are they the same thing?) BECAUSE my system requires me to be logged on as administrator!!! It's become a vicious cycle and I'm so frustrated.
